Nao believes that the Liar Game is a game that tests people’s hearts and whether they have the guts to overcome greed.
Another person was drawn to her because of a rousing speech that Nao gave regarding trusting others to save the contestants in the Liar Game. The players began to sense a bit of guilt in themselves and they eventually helped her. When they kept refusing, she went down on her knees and in tears. This was displayed at its finest during one of the laters where Nao begged two players to help her out. Her actions & behavior can really throw someone off because she’s trying to come out to be truthful. Now what makes her interesting is that her honest & depressed nature makes her the most dangerous competitor in the Liar Game. A few symptoms of clinical depression are:ġ.) Withdrawal from social situations & activities (Nao admits that she hasn’t truly interacted with others)Ģ.) Thoughts of worthlessness, self-hatred, guilt (Nao feels as if she’s weak after being confronted/manipulated by others and/or placed in situations where she believes she has no control over)ģ.) Poor concentration and/or memory (Multiple people have lied to her and she still lets herself be deceived repeatedly) In a sense, Nao reminds me of people who have clinical depression.
Liar game japanese drama masks round 2 series#
There are multiple times where she cries throughout the series when she doesn’t believe things are hopeless. Nao is known to wear her emotions on her sleeves. She is a naive and honest girl who doesn’t have any friends. The picture above describes Nao perfectly. Since then, it’s been one crazy experience after another for her. Our heroine, Nao, gets caught up in this game because she unknowingly opens the LG invitation sent to her through mail. These rounds also test people’s emotions to the point of mental breakdown and people have to lie in order to win hence why it’s called the “Liar Game”. The winners usually receive a crapload of money & advance while the losers end up in huge debt (e.g. Contestants duel each other in rounds to reach the top and win money. I won’t go into too many details about the plot, but the gist of the story is that there is a competition called the “Liar Game”, where people are chosen randomly to compete for a huge sum of money. Her name is Nao Kanzaki and she is one of the protagonists of the hit manga/drama series, Liar Game. Time to do a feature on a character who I found pretty annoying at first, but I grew to like her.
